Preferred Accommodation Location The TAP Survey asked the respondents where they would prefer to move to (Figure 14). A distinct pattern emerged of preference to live in areas to the North East, West and North West of Cork City. These are all relatively rural areas, reflecting the type of area that many of the respondents grew up in. It is noted from the City Development Plan that Blarney, Ballincollig and Glanmire are all earmarked for significant population growth in the 2022 Cork City Development Plan, in the form of the:
Stoneview Framework Masterplan and Blarney East/Ringwood Expansion Area,

South Glanmire Expansion Area and South Glanmire Framework Plan, and
▪
South Ballincollig (Maglin) Expansion Area.
▪
The future development of these urban expansion areas may present opportunities to integrate new standard Council Housing for Travellers and small Traveller Group Housing Schemes.
