96 Trading Online Vouchers were awarded.

44 potential jobs were created by grants awarded by the LEO.

35 businesses were awarded grant aid.

16 schools were supported in the student enterprise programme.

23 Green for Micro grants were awarded.

Local Enterprise Office , Cork City: ‘Business Development in Cork: An Entrepreneurs Guide 2023’.

In 2022 after identifying a knowledge gap, the Local Enterprise Office, Cork City produced a booklet entitled “Business Development in Cork: An Entrepreneurs Guide 2023”. The pur pose of the booklet was to provide an extensive overview of the public and private support available to SMEs in Cork. The booklet also contained essential information for new businesses and included case studies of best practice from local businesses. The booklet was the first of its kind in Ireland and was launched by Minster for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney. Minister Coveney hailed the booklet as a very innovative initiative. Within the first week of publishing the booklet received ove r 1000 views on Cork City Council’s website.

The Rubicon Centre – Munster Technological University

The Rubicon Centre is a university campus-based incubation Centre supporting Cork City and County in Ireland. Acting as an enterprise hub; It provides support to entrepreneurs to Start, Accelerate Grow and scale their businesses. The incubator focuses on Entrepreneurs who have innovative ideas, and who can benefit not only from the support of the incubator but also those of the Munster Technology University (MTU). of 500+companies based across Cork City & County

The incubator works daily with many entrepreneurship stakeholders including the Local Enterprise Offices, Enterprise Ireland, Cork City and County Councils and several business and technology clusters. The Rubicon supports entrepreneurs who come from a wide variety of backgrounds. These entrepreneurs are based both on the Rubicon and off-campus. The core offerings are mentoring, training, incubation facilities and access to finance. In addition, several targeted measures have been developed including a programme for women entrepreneurs, support for student entrepreneurs and companies which are scaling or want to scale, to take advantage of new opportunities in national and international markets. These measures include Exxcel (Support for Women Entrepreneurs), Scale Cork (Scaling Programme for Companies in partnership with Cork County Council) and a partner with MTU in Student INC (an accelerator for undergraduates). The Rubicon is a key partner in supporting entrepreneurs in Cork City, its impact can also be measured under the following headings:

• A catalyst for sustainable employment with over 3000+ direct jobs created by client companies and many spin-off employment opportunities. • Unique offering providing both commercial and product development support through the host Technological University facilitation entrepreneurs to develop all aspects of their business.
