Cork Jewish Culture Musical Walk The Cork Jewish Culture Musical Walk will introduce you to the music of Eastern European and Irish Jewry from the early 1900s until today, while you visit the sites of the historic Cork Jewish community. Ruti Lachs, local musician and composer will lead the Walk. Places are limited so booking is essential on rutilachs@gmail.com 11am to 12.30pm, Meet Outside the Imperial Hotel, South Mall. St Peter’s Cork An introduction to Genealogy with David Ryan The talk will examine some of the basics of Irish genealogical research and offer tips on making the best start. 1.15pm to 2pm, St Peter’s Cork, North Main Street. Cork City Libraries Living Heritage: Education in Upper Glanmire through the Generations A heritage talk by local historian revisiting education in Upper Glanmire through the generations. 2.30pm to 3.30pm, Glanmire Library, Hazelwood Shopping Centre, Glanmire. Crawford Art Gallery The Art of Scientific Research- Understanding how hope, optimism, resilience, and efficacy develop in the family business. A public lecture by Catherine Duggan. 5.30pm, Crawford Art Gallery, Emmett Place. The Northern Ridge- St Patrick’s Hill to MacCurtain Street Historical Walking Tour with Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Kieran McCarthy. Discover the area around St Patrick’s Hill- Old Youghal Road to MacCurtain Street. 6.30pm, Meet on the Green at Audley Place, top of St. Patrick’s Hill Cork City Libraries Céili in the Courtyard with Arundo Trad Band and Set Dancers 7pm to 8pm, Rory Gallagher Music Library, The City Library, Grand Parade.
