A city of engaged neighbourhoods & communities Cork City is unique in that we are an emerging metropolitan area comprising of a city centre, satellite towns, villages, neighbourhoods and communities. Each area offers their own unique experiences and culture but are united in the passion and drive of the people who live, work and visit. Our new city complements older areas and traditions to give Cork a diverse cultural offering that is local in nature yet internationally recognised. Community spirit is central to the Cork way of life, with over 500 community groups within the city. Relationships between individual and society is what helps us work together to create a city that is accessible, affordable, inclusive, safe and engaging. We respect, celebrate and embrace our diferences to create and nuture a rich and dynamic culture – a collective efferverescence.
