Outdoor Dining – Re-Imagine Cork

Increased Pedestrianisation Increasing walking routes can have a hugely positive impact on ambient air quality and the environment. Widening footpaths and narrowing roadways makes walking a safer and more attractive proposition. The presence of large numbers of aesthetically pleasing walking routes also offers the public a greater opportunity for exercise.

As a direct response to Covid-19 social distancing requirements, the council has ‘re-imagined’ Cork as a haven for pedestrians and cyclists. This has resulted in the designation of a large number of city centre streets as pedestrian priority zones.
