Sustain the development of Cork as a UNESCO Learning City, using Education and Lifelong Learning approaches to support the delivery of all UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Sustain and grow Learning City partnership structures and networks that involve all stakeholders in lifelong learning: Formal, non-formal, and informal.

To empower and enable people of all ages, interests, and abilities to participate in and enjoy lifelong learning, the arts and creativity.

To sustain and develop initiatives to remove barriers to participation in lifelong learning and cultural activities for marginalised and underrepresented groups.

To animate our city centre, communities, and neighbourhoods through art, learning and cultural events, and creative placemaking.

Building on Cork Learning City (CLC) recognition as an international case study of good practice in Learning City Development, to extend the reach of Cork Learning Neighbourhoods (CLN), the Cork Lifelong Learning Festival (CLLF) and Lifelong Learning Conferences/ Seminars through additional resourcing of outreach, promotion, and staffing. To relaunch the Cork Celebrates Lifelong Learning Awards as a biennial event and develop a system of “Lifelong Learning” champions among award winners to promote lifelong learning in priority sectors and settings. To support and strengthen the work of Cork Access Network through securing additional resourcing for coordination and by strengthening engagement with both under- represented groups, business and industry groups and the DSP. To support the implementation of the Southern Regional Assemblies ‘Towards a Learning Region’ Policy in Cork City and across the Region.
