Communication Campaign We ran an extensive media campaign to help us spread the word about the consultation. It involved:
As part of the public consultation process, we collaborated with UCC on key elements of the public consultation . UCC’s staff from their Community Engagement department helped us identify stakeholders and design elements of the consultation process. We also went on to co-deliver three i n-person, stakeholder engagement events with UCC. Two of these were multi-stakeholder events whereby a range of stakeholders from the four sectors identified in the ‘Quadruple Helix’ model participated. The four sectors are the economic, public, education sectors and civic society. The third event was a dedicated event for Cork City Council staff. City Labs The City Labs methodology brings communities and civic society, academics, enterprises and public sector organisations together to:

Distributing 5,000 flyers across the city

Running a bus stop poster campaign
•
Holding LECP consultation clinics in all 10 Cork City libraries, where the LECP team set up a pop-up LECP exhibition to engage members of the public Making available a QR code to direct people to a dedicated LECP webpage

Developing a short animation explaining what the LECP is
•
Commissioning 6 video interviews with local community development stakeholders on what the LECP means to them and their initiative

Identify issues and challenges

Explore opportunities
Partnership with UCC One of the many ways in which Cork City Council works in partnership with UCC is through the European University of Post-Industrial Cities in Transition (UNIC) programme. UNIC is an alliance of 10 European University and City partners who are pioneering innovative and transformative ways of working with and between their cities to tackle urban challenges and sustainable futures.
