Goals There are 6 high-level goals of the LECP. The goals were identified based on:
Sustainability is at the core of all LECP actions. Our actions must lead to sustainable and inclusive economic growth. We aim to address a range of social needs, including:

Our actions should at the same time tackle climate change and environmental protection. To do all this means we need to create a sustainable and resource-efficient economy.

Equality and Inclusion We are committed to prioritising the needs of communities experiencing social or economic exclusion. We will seek to address the root causes of exclusion and to develop strategies and mechanisms to promote and ensure inclusion. We are committed to applying the principles of equality and addressing the multiple ways many groups experience discrimination. We have considered equality and inclusion when devising all actions in this plan. We recognise the need to:
