7.1 Introduction Cork City is designated a World Health Organisation (WHO) Healthy City . As such, a range of partners, including Cork City Council and the HSE have committed to continually improve the physical and social environments of the city. Working together to create and expand the community resources needed to enable people to mutually support each other in performing all the functions of life to help them achieve their maximum potential.
7.2 The Six Objectives Of This Goal
Good Cross-sectoral Working We will promote cross-sectoral working to achieve better health outcomes for the city through integrated health planning which addresses the social determinants of health and promotes health in all policies. Community Development and Participatory Approaches We will promote community development and participatory approaches to address health challenges and generate models of evidence-based best practice.

A Healthy City We aim to make sure that Cork City is a healthy city that connects to improve the health and wellbeing of all its people at all ages, reduces health inequalities and recognises the need for a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. A Responsive and Resilient City We aim to create a responsive and resilient city by building strong interconnected and sustainable local health systems that can respond to local needs and threats to public health.

HSE Services We will support the HSE-led

enhancement and restructuring of health services in Cork City to ensure access to quality health care for all. Create Spaces for Health We will create spaces and places for health using a community placemaking approach.
