8.4 How We Will Reach This Goal and Objectives – The 19 Actions (Full Action Plan in Appendix 1)
Annual seminar We will coordinate an annual seminar for Community Associations. Models of Advocacy We will enhance quality models of advocacy within and among the partnerships and Inter-agency groups. By doing this we aim to increase: • intersectionality (Intersectionality describes overlapping or interdependent systems of discrimination related to age, disabilities, ethnicity, gender, geographic location, sex, socioeconomic status, sexuality, marital status etc.) • Collaboration • Shared learning • Sustainability Tackle Poverty, Inclusion and Equality We will use a partnership approach to help tackle poverty, inclusion and equality by supporting more connection and collaborative implementation of the following programmes: • RAPID • SICAP • Learning Cities • Social Enterprise Programmes • Local Area Challenge • Empowering Communities Programme Create Working Group We will create a working group so we can put a collaborative programme in place. Work with Traveller and Roma Communities We will focus resources in collaboration with the Traveller and Roma community organisations to improve the Traveller and Roma Communities: • Access to education

Cork City Public Participation Network (PPN) We aim to enhance our support for Cork City PPN. We need to do this to enable meaningful public participation and to help the PPN increase their input into the policy and decision-making forums of Cork City Council. Include All Ages and Abilities We will facilitate active participation of people of all ages and abilities. We will do this using existing forums and inter-agencies. We will help these groups to contribute to civic planning and decision making. Gaps We will analyse where the gaps in participation are, focusing on the seldom-heard voices. Sustainable Volunteering Model In collaboration with the community and voluntary sector we will support and promote a sustainable model of volunteerism in Cork City. This will create voluntary opportunities for people of all ages and abilities and for those experiencing exclusion. Community Associations We will support the sustainability of new and existing Community Associations so they can continue

to meet the needs of their communities. We will focus particularly on communities experiencing exclusion. Survey We will carry out a survey of Community Associations to: • Assess their sustainability • Identify models of good practice to share.
