9.5 Case Study: Creative Enquiry – Arts and Older People Arts and Older People was an collaborative venture that took place in 2019. It explored fresh approaches to arts engagement with older people and best practice models.
The programme drew on the experience of partners from three distinct arts organisations:

‘What's Next?’ was then developed. It was a peer exchange programme that shared the learning gained through the Creative Enquiry with stakeholders. What’s Next? included practitioners and policy makers working with older people in health and community contexts through the arts.

Creative Enquiry - Arts and Older People was supported by the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon ‘Invitation to Collaboration’ scheme.

Three artist-residency and older-people-engagement projects were hosted by each of the participating arts organisations in 2019 A print publication, titled ‘Creative Enquiry: Arts and Older People’ reflecting on the achievements of the residencies and projects was launched in 2020, available on request from Cork City Council Arts Office ‘What Next?’- a podcast series launched in 2021 A set of fully subsidised workshops and advice clinics for practitioners were run in November 2021 ‘What Next?’ - an arts and ageing resources publication was launched in November 2022 and is available to download from the Resources section of the age and opportunity website
