ACA MacCurtain Street
1.201 Mac Curtain Street is a formal Victorian street running between Bridge Street and Brian Boru Street, with a mix of building types – ornate polychromatic stone and brick structures from the later 19th century such as Thompson House, the Metropole Hotel, and Isaac’s restaurant and hotel among them. These are interspersed with slightly earlier painted plastered terraced buildings and with a number of distinctive mid-20th C buildings along the north side, such as the curtain-walled former Thompson Swiss roll bakery and the stone faced former-CBC building. 1.202 St. Patrick’s Quay is a lower-lying south-facing quayside, with a varied streetscape lined by former- shipping company offices and warehouses, many fronting enclosed yards, and covered areas behind; the informal nature of the former maritime quayside allowing for the full extent of the back of house areas of the Everyman theatre and the rear of the Metropole Hotel to be clearly seen.
