It is important for emotional and mental wellbeing, sense of identity and belonging and a point of integration and engagement for visitors and newcomers.

8.2 Cork City’s Culture links us to where we come from and shapes an understanding of our city as a unique and special place. Cork’s unique cultural identity is distinct yet evolving and is shaped by our diverse communities. The preservation of Cork’s cultural heritage and cultivation of our cultural identity makes the city an attractive and vibrant place to live, work, study and visit. Cork City Council has an important role to play in ensuring that the city’s culture is valued.
