Cork Lifelong 2026

CORK LEARNING CITY

The NTO works with University College Cork, Munster Technological University, Cork ETB, and Kerry ETB to create clear pathways that support progression from Further Education (FE) to Higher Education (HE). These pathways allow learners to begin their studies in a local College of Further Education and Training and then transition smoothly to complete their degree in a partner university. Tertiary pathways offer dual registration, access to supports across both institutions, smaller class sizes, and a learner‑centred approach that builds confidence and academic skills. There are also no tuition or student contribution fees while studying in the College of Further Education and Training, making these routes both accessible and affordable. Current degree options span healthcare, social sciences, technology, and the creative industries, including Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing, Process Manufacturing and Technology, and Animation. Additional programmes in Sustainable Supply Chains and Logistics, Applied Social and Community Development, and Applied Sports Performance and Coach Education are in development and will further expand local opportunities. Tertiary Managers Kathy Bradley and Gobnait Burke support this work through the Southern Strategic Alliance and can be contacted at feather@corketb.ie or through the National Tertiary Office website Courses | National Tertiary Office

The National Tertiary Office (NTO) in the Southwestern Region is delighted to partner with the Cork Lifelong Learning Festival as it celebrates its 21st year. The festival highlights the wide range of learning opportunities available across Cork and reinforces that lifelong learning should be enjoyable, accessible, and open to everyone.
