● Promotion and enhancement of the riverside as an attractive place to walk along and socialise can help unlock the River Lee’s potential, improving amenity and the character of the city centre (e.g Grand Parade and Lapps Quay East) ● Pilot an annual competition that invites artists, environmentalists and activists to propose projects that can activate spaces along the River ● Prepare for future mobility needs to/from the Docklands in the vicinity of the City Centre by undertaking a river-focused feasibility study on the rollout of boat tours, kayaking activity, and the feasibility of water taxis ● Review level of access to the city centre’s main green spaces from key arterial routes and improve signposting and increase funding for the current City Centre Placemaking Fund . Develop a schedule of projects to implement over 2022-2025 (small parks and plazas around the city centre, community gardens, rooftop parks and gardens, vertical greening / rainwater boxes) ● Audit whether public bikes are near green spaces and improve walking routes along the river

• The river is amongst Cork’s greatest assets, and has historic and cultural importance • Its impact can be accentuated through physical development and feasibility studies
