Redevelopment of Beamish and Crawford/Grand Parade Site create enhanced leisure, cultural and civic facilities. Potential uses include an event centre, museum or other visitor attractions and cultural products. • Full planning permission granted for 13,000sq m event centre with capacity for 6,000 persons on the site of former Beamish & Crawford brewery. • Project is to receive combined state funding of €50 million , with €30 million invested by developer BAM and operator Live Nation. • In March 2021 €46 million allocated under the URDF to support the Beamish and Crawford Quarter Infrastructure Public Realm Project, • Construction yet to commence, expected to take up to 2 years to complete. Create new office district in the western harbour area with large floorplate office buildings and residential, retail and leisure use. Bonded Warehouses should be targeted and developed for arts, crafts, cafes, restaurants and bars. • Cork Docklands Delivery Office established in 2020 by CCC and LDA to lead development of the docklands area over 20 year period. • Development has progressed – 82,475 sqm of office development is in construction or completed with over 12,000 sqm in the planning process. Over 1,600 residential units are currently in the planning process in the area. 136 hotel rooms are constructed or in construction with 265 rooms seeking planning . • In March 2021 €353 million in funding announced under URDF to support development of Cork City Docklands.
