Progress clearly evident

Encourage partnership of property owners on South Mall to stimulate investment. Change traffic pattern to enhance street as a premium office location. Provide greater recreational amenities, including a pocket park. • Good progress around maintaining South Mall as a premium office location. Market research indicates strong activity and rental levels for South Mall office space. • 2019 saw the opening of new 45,000 sq. ft office development at 85 South Mall , with the new development awarded Gold LEED Certification for energy efficiency. • In 2021 a parklet was installed by CCC outside the Imperial Hotel on South Mall , a miniature urban green space with planting and public seating. Create a ‘must visit’ attraction for the City Centre. Suggested options include an Irish diaspora museum, a science centre and a modern library • A new 7,700 sq.m city library is included under the Grand Parade Quarter project, which has received €46 million in funding under the URDF. The new library will include a rooftop garden and is targeted to attract 1 million visitors per annum. • However, museum and heritage elements have yet to be addressed
