Cork Heritage Open Day

From the first week of December 2020, and supported by Fáilte Ireland, Ardú offered two types of free tours for the public to enjoy during Christmas. These included a guided walking tour of the seven Ardú Street Art locations led by the artists and organisers and a self-guided audio tour available from the website.
The event moved online and was very popular with nearly three thousand visits to the website during heritage week with 1,338 people visiting the website on 15th August, 2020 (Cork Heritage Open Day). Facebook posts were seen by 55,960 people, Tweets were seen 120,570 times and Instagram posts were seen by 10,479 people. There was also extensive local & national coverage online, on radio and in the print media.
Ardú Street Art Initiative
Ardú Cork, funded by Cork City Council with support from Creative Ireland, included seven murals created by renowned street artists in response to a theme inspired by the 1920 Burning of Cork. The murals were painted during October 2020 in key City Centre locations by artists
