The focus of these campaigns was on the importance of being part of the community and encouraging diversity. We are looking forward to welcoming these new recruits in 2021.
Cork City Fire and Building Control continued to deliver its service during the pandemic year of 2020. The Operational Brigade responded to 2,727 calls. These ranged from Fires, Road Traffic accidents, Flooding and River Rescues. Our collaboration with the Health Service continued throughout 2020 with over two hundred cardiac incidents attended. The addition of Ballincollig Fire Station to Cork City Fire Brigade following the Boundary extension has added to our response in newly extended area. This year, 2020, saw our first major recruitment drive in a number of years for full time firefighters and for the first time retained fire fighters.
