The proposed rezoning for residential development would result in the development of what is a prominent, elevated and sensitive site. The site also acts as a natural buffer to the built up part of the city and the City Hinterland. The development of this area for residential development is not recommended. Recommendation: No change. The support expressed in this submission for this zoning is noted. The proposed zoning reflects the land use on site. Recommendation: No change. This site is located adjacent to the existing development boundary of Killeens. Rezoning these lands for residential development would further erode the hinterland area that surrounds the built up part of the City, contrary to the principle of compact growth.
