Summary of Submission and Observation:

This submission states that the plan as drafted has no distinguishable targets, budgets or measurable goals to deliver and impact the projects described.

• No plans for tidal barrier as part of flood works programme • NIAH buildings are not suitably protected, ref. the Sextant • Cycle and pedestrian mode share targets are too low • Need for increased city centre tree planting • Phase out on street car parking • Support for the Lee to Sea Greenway • Identified shortfall of childrens play spaces in the city

Summary of Submission and Observation:

• lands in Glashaboy Woods are serviceable, as consequence of their recent development project near the site and as such these lands should be recognised as part of the Z02 Residential lands for Glanmire and not the proposed Landscape preservation zoning objective. • The submission also sets out the access and availability of support infrastructure to support development and the compliance of its location with transport planning and compact growth. • Seeks rezoning of lands adjoining Glashaboy Woods in Glanmire • Outlines that lands are serviceable as consequence their recent development of the adjoining site • Sets out that development of these lands is in keeping with transport planning and compact growth of Glanmire • States there is availability of supporting infrastructure.

Summary of Submission and Observation:

This submission commends the efforts made by the Council to improve parks and cycle infrastructure in the city, however, there is a concern that existing parks will be overlooked and will not receive any new investment works.

In particular this submission identifies the underlying issues at the Lough in terms of

• Traffic hazards for cyclists and vehicles at Hartlands bend and The Lough Road • Road too narrow for 2 lanes on approach to the Lough Church • Potential to amend Hartland save to one way system to improve traffic • Increased greening opportunities.
