Summary of Submission and Observation:

Request to reverse the proposed Education rezoning back to Residential zoning on lands located at Lisheens, Ballincollig, Co. Cork.

• The lands were zoned Residential in the 2017 Cork County Local Area Plan for Ballincollig & Carrigaline. • The lands are now proposed for rezoning to ZO 13 Education in the Draft Cork City Development Plan 2022 – 2028. • Submission states that landowner is in advanced talks with property developer to sell site for residential development and the proposed zoning will prevent this from happening

Summary of Submission and Observation:

• Submission states that the northern portion of their clients’ lands be re - zoned as ‘ZO -01 Sustainable Residential Neighbourhood’ from ZO 18 Landscape Preservation Zone located at Ennismore, Montenotte, Cork. • Proposed zoning change to allow for the sustainable development of these lands in compliance with the Draft City Development Plan’s strategy for compact growth in the City. • That a more flexible approach to Landscape Protection Zones within the new Development Plan would facilitate an active management approach rather than a presumption against development on their remaining lands to the south of the retreat house.
