Summary of Submission and Observation:

I am a resident of Cork City, I grew up here and I'm hoping to buy my home here. • I want to live in a city that treats people fairly so that all can enjoy it. The 15-Minute City Concept is welcomed and substantial progress should be made towards achieving this during the plan period. The City will never be safe or inclusive until everyone lives in a homes of their own that cannot be taken from them. • The walking and cycling targets contained in Table 4.1 CMATS Mode Share Baseline and Targets require amendment. They are not ambitious and directly contradict with Objective 2.8: The 15-Minute City ambition. The targets should be amended upwards. The 4% cycle share is too low. • References to universal access (accessibility) are limited and require stronger emphasis. Any ‘pedestrian’ measures need to include accessibility. There isn’t enough space for those that use wheelchairs / buggies or need the support of another person. • The objective for Derelict Sites (2.21) should refer to Derelict sites Levy being reinvested in tackling dereliction (as the Vacant Site Levy does). Greater emphasis needs to be placed on removing dereliction and a zero- tolerance towards dereliction. • It may be considered appropriate to omit or revise the 15-Minute City objective if the mode split targets for walking and cycling are not revised and measures to cause a shift are not adequately outlined; • Community charging facilities for Electric Vehicles (EVs) need to be provided in order t avoid cables crossing footways.
