Summary of Submission and Observation:
• Submission requests Cork City Council to rezone lands to the east of the L6477 road at Moneygurney, Douglas from ZO 21 (City Hinterland) to ZO 02 (New Residential Neighbourhoods). • The planning policy context and planning rationale to support this request are presented in the submission. • The submission also sates that there is also merit in considering a more comprehensive approach to the overall development of the Moneygurney area, to provide a future residential area of appropriate scale that will contribute to the continued success of existing infrastructure and support the case for further investment, particularly in relation to BusConnects and the Carr’s Hill Park and Ride, as promoted in the Cork Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy 2040 (CMATS).

• This submission seeks to rezone lands between Lower Glanmire Road and Middle Glanmire Road by amending draft Zoning Map 05 to remove part of these lands from the Public Open Space zone and zone the entirety of the lands as ZO1 Sustainable Residential Neighbourhood. • The site is located within an area designated as “High Value Landscape” under Objective 6.13. • The submissions sets out the planning policy and the planning rationale for making the requested amendments to the Draft Plan. • Amendment of draft Zoning Map 05 to remove part of the subject site (located between Lower Glanmire Road and Middle Glanmire Road) from the Public Open Space zone and zone the entirety of the lands as ZO1 Sustainable Residential Neighbourhood
