Summary of Submission and Observation:

• This submission relates to the proposed zoning objectives set out in the draft plan for Maglin area in Ballincollig. • The submission requests either amending the zoning to reflect the original ZO 01 – sustainable Residential Neighbourhoods intention or by extending the ZO 02(Tier 2) zoning to include the subject lands when finalizing the zoning provision for the area. • The submission states that the subject lands are serviceable and form ‘one large land bank’ with adjoining lands.

Summary of Submission and Observation:

1. Disappointment with Housing Policy, level of dereliction unacceptable, HAP reform needed.

2. More ambitious walking and cycling model share required.

3. Protection of landscape by building on brownfield and developing inner city. More suitable diverse housing stock in city centre for all. GBI developments are most welcome.

4. Survey of existing 44 parks in the city, shows many areas with poor parks and facilities particularly in the north city wards.

5. Transition towards more sustainable travel and less reliance on private vehicles. Network of direct, comfortable, convenient and safe cycle routes and footpaths across the city - leading to a higher cycling and walking modal share.

Summary of Submission and Observation:

• This is a duplicate submission (see Submission 338). Dereliction should not define the fabric of our urban areas and needs to be eradicated. • Our unhealthy relationship with property in Ireland has led to this dereliction epidemic. • We can end dereliction and our economy needs this to happen. • Reusing derelict properties and sites will make our urban environments a better place to rest, play and work for everyone.
