Summary of Submission and Observation:
• This Development Plan takes place at a unique time, in the wake of a pandemic, yet in the midst of a positive policy context with endorsements from the NPF, to the NDP and CMATS. It is essential that it is facilitative of creative solutions and that it is mindful of market realities, viability and delivery. • Quality of life, housing, sustainability, economic and social change will be dominant topics for its duration, and it is essential that progress is made on all fronts. • Recommendations on delivering homes & communities in Cork City, and compact liveable growth. • Recommendations on transport & mobility in Cork City. • Recommendations on climate adaptation and mitigation in Cork City. • Recommendations on green & blue infrastructure and open space in Cork City. • Recommendations on economy & employment in Cork City. • Recommendations on heritage, arts & culture in Cork City. • Recommendations on environmental infrastructure & management in Cork City. • Recommendations on placemaking & managing development in Cork City.

• Request that the lands at Model Farm Road, as identified at Figure 1.1., are rezoned from ZO 21 – City Hinterland where the objective is ‘‘to protect and improve rural amenity and provide for the development of agric ulture’ ’ to ZO 02 - New Res Neighbourhoods where the objective is ‘‘ to provide for new residential development in tandem with the provision of the necessary social and physical infrastructure’’ .
