• Recommend using Geological Survey Ireland Data Sets when conducting EIAR, SEA, planning and scoping purposes. Maps should be contribu ted to ‘Geological Survey Ireland’. • Support for SEA Section 4.8.1 ‘Geological Sites’, Draft Plan Objective 6.27 ‘Areas of Geological Importance’, • Welcome Objective 9.14 Renewable Energy. Ireland has widespread shallow geothermal resources for small and medium-scale heating applications. • To include an objective to protect geological NHAs as they become designated. • To correctly attribute use of ‘Geological Survey Ireland’ data sets where GSI maps are used e.g. SEA Report 4.9.5 Ground Water, 4.9.6 Aquifer Vulnerability and Productivity, 4.13 Groundwater Productivity and Draft Plan 9.9 Water Quality
