Summary of Submission and Observation:

• This submission puts forward that no new roads projects or car parks are commenced or funded until the Lee to Sea Greenway has been completed and the Healthcare Cycleway from CUH to South Infirmary are completed. • Additionally, it is considered that a 20% cycling mode share target for 2028 should be aim for and that Strategic Objectives SO3, SO4, SO8 and SO9 cannot be achieved by electric vehicle but rather prioritising pedestrian and cycle infrastructure. • The submission also includes suggestions for penalties for bike share facilitators leaving stands empty, proposed cycle safety campaigns, undercover gardaí to patrol cycle safety and safe routes to school programme – not pertinent to the Plan. • Lee to Sea Greenway to be delivered over the lifetime of this Plan. • Healthcare cycleway from CUH to South Infirmary should be included in the Plan. • Improving cycle safety Response and Recommendation to issues located in (Located under relevant chapter in the CE Report):

Summary of Submission and Observation:

• This submission relates to flood issues in Cork City and seeks that opinions, other than the OPW’s, should be sought to resolve flood matters in Cork. This submission seeks that public meetings held between the Council and public bodies the ESB/OPW/Flood Steering Committee should be made public. • Notes that the OPW does not monitor groundwater flooding, which is a key element of Cork’s flood issues and that the ESB have not examined the potential of the Lee Dams for Cork’s flood protection. • Seeks that the OPW flood wall project be abandoned in favour of a tidal barrier and change in ESB controls of nearby reservoirs. • Seeks that minutes from public meetings held between the ESB/OPW/City Flood Steering Committee should be made public.
