Summary of Submission and Observation:

• stating I am overall very supportive of this draft City Development Plan. It includes some very • promising improvements for Cork City looking ahead into the future, particularly with regards to transport and how we all get around, • Support for Lee to Sea , having economic, tourism and environmental benefits. • Supports plans for increased pedestrian and cycling infrastructure but would like more emphasis to prioritise pedestrians and cyclists over cars. • Bi-directional cycle lanes from the city to major residential suburbs of Blackpool, Douglas and Rochestown etc. • Poor air quality in the city, this is largely as consequence of car dominance • Prioritise public transport and cycle infrastructure over roads projects. • Cycle mode share of 4% not high enough • 25% public transport share not high enough • Seeks targets to address vacancy and dereliction in the city • Suggests developing a water based transport system •
