Volume 2 – Summary of Submissions Received
- easy and safe access to parks and playgrounds on foot, scooters and bike - to increase public transport infrastructure incl. city trams, electric trains, and underground train system, - reducing private transport, - decarbonising transport - solar powered public transport, - electric cars infrastructure - provision of more park and ride locations - easy access for walkers, cyclists and public transport to school, home, park and playground - support for cork airport, - introducing ziplines through streets, - multi use of river for boats, paddle boats, rowing boats and water taxis.
Non development plan issues raised (which will not be addressed) include provision of free public transport
Ch. 5 Climate Change and the Environment
Young people asking support and provision for measures to reduce pollution and address climate change and global warming through support and provision for:

Greater energy efficiency
- Sustainable /renewable energy incl. solar panels and wind turbines - Solar panels on buildings - Solar powered lighting
Non development plan issues raised (which will not be addressed) include more posters, marches, use of biodegradable materials and online activity to make a difference for climate change.
Ch.6 Green and Blue Infrastructure, Open Space and Biodiversity
Young people highlight the need:

To support biodiversity
- to be able to access nature e.g. the river, green spaces - for more trees and to prevent removal of existing trees, - for more plants and flowers - for more parks, community gardens, and allotments, - larger playgrounds, and services/features e.g. places to exercise (indoor and outdoor gym, basketball courts, tennis courts, zoo and soccer pitches), tables, chairs, benches, toilets and bathrooms. - For more places to sit, eat and relax - for safety in outdoor spaces - for indoor and outdoor places to play and to have fun e.g. obstacle courses and kids gym - for places for older children to hang out - for better use of the river and amenities adjacent to the river - for provision of water parks and swimming pools with recommendation that these should be free to everyone - provision for dog parks - for more sports centres and pitches
