Summary of Submission and Observation:

• Observations cover more than delivering homes and sustainable neighbourhoods, but all relate back to this. Our community needs and deserves a City Development Plan that considers not just development, but sustainable development for the long term future of all our residents in an environment that is healthy and safe and that means considering all three pillars: Social, Economic and Environment, also remembering that environment means so much more than water, energy, waste and power generation. • Chapter 2: While it is great to see redevelopment of the Docklands, more focus is also needed on brownfield sites and derelict/vacant sites in the city centre - we need to keep quality "greenfield" areas as natural spaces for the wellbeing of all in our community. • Chap ter 3: Observations on Housing and Communities’ policies • Chapter 4: Greenways and Sustainable Transport • Objectives of both chapters 5 and 6 must be entwined and integrated into all other objectives as detailed in the plan, otherwise the Climate Action & the Environment (Chapter 5) and Green & Blue Infrastructure, Open Space and Biodiversity (Chapter 6) objectives will be totally unachievable. • Section 9.11 re flood risk and flood barrier • Chapter 10 Issues relating to Douglas
