The locations comprise a mix of strategic brownfield, infill and greenfield lands in public and private ownership. Collectively these locations can facilitate the delivery of a range of mixed- used development, including an estimated 60,000 to 100,000 residential units on 1,500 ha of land at an average density of 80 units per hectare. Three of the locations are within the City Centre or City Docklands, ten are within the city suburbs and three are located in the urban towns of Ballincollig and Blarney. Each strategic location is directly linked to existing transport infrastructure and/or planned CMATS infrastructure. Much of this new infrastructure is currently being planned (BusConnects, urban rail upgrades, Cycle Connects, LRT route selection).
