Delivery of a network of large city parks and smaller green areas throughout the metropolitan area and inner-city areas.
Cork City Council commenced the development of a masterplan for the North-west City Park and will develop an Implementation Strategy to deliver a high quality, attractive city park. An options assessment has commenced for the North-east Regional Park. Both of these regional parks are identified in the City Development Plan.
The continued development of Cork Airport as an international airport and the provision of high quality digital connectivity within the region.
The BusConnects Infrastructure Project has presented enhanced bus priority measures along the N27 Airport Road as part of the overall public consultation on the project in the Cork region. The delivery of these proposed works will improve connectivity to Cork Airport by both public transport and bicycle. Separately, Cork City Council is advancing plans to deliver enhanced cycle infrastructure to better connect Cork Airport with the wider city centre and suburbs (N27 (Airport Road) Enhanced Cycle Facilities).
