[OBJECTIVE 3.3] NEW HOUSING SUPPLY
1. Dwelling Completions in the Private Market In accordance with CSO data, there were 1,963 new dwelling completions between Q3, 2022 and Q1, 2024, comprising 69% scheme dwellings, 26% apartments and 5% single dwellings. The largest relative increase was in apartments which rose sharply in Q4, 2023 causing the number of all house type completions to rise from a low point in Q3, 2023. A notable decrease occurred in apartment completions in Q1, 2024, causing a corresponding decrease in the overall dwelling completions. Completion figures for houses however increased in Q1, 2024. Dwelling completions in the private market for 2023 totalled 1,044 out of a total net housing supply target per annum of 2,706 units 11 .
