Develop new stations in tandem with land use, and provide passing loops and platform improvements as required.
Undertake Review of Suburban Rail Network to determine the level of upgrades and new stations required.
This review is currently on-going and is being managed by Irish Rail.
In addition to the above, Irish Rail have started the construction of the new platform at Kent Station and have procured the delivery services associated with the new signalling and communications project required to support the Cork Commuter Network. Planning permission has also been granted to ‘twin track’ the rail line between Glounthane and Midelton.
