Cemeteries Cork City Council manages and maintains the following cemeteries: St. Finbarr’s; St Catherine’s; St Michael’s; St Joseph’s, Rathcooney, St. James, Curraghkippane, St. Oliver’s, Kilcully Old, Inniscarra and Carrigrohane Beg. Cemeteries are essential services during the Covid-19 Pandemic and include the following: Excavate Graves and undertake burials. Niche sales and record Inurnments. Record Interments, grave re-openings, and plot sales. Grass mowing, wreath & floral removal, litter collection and weed control. Lay Foundations for Headstones. Maintain Car Parks. Liaise with the Public and Bereaved Families. Issue invoices and reconcile accounts. Liaise with the Public and Bereaved Families. Issue invoices and reconcile accounts.

Rathcooney Cemetery

Construction/installation of new flower planters in new and old cemetery. Conservation assessment report complete.

St. James Cemetery Chetwynd

Construction of walled plant area at internal roundabout sculpture.

Douglas Cemetery

Clear up of waste material in the cemetery undertaken.

St. Michael’s Cemetery

Repairs to headstone foundation undertaken. Tree and scrub trimming and maintenance work undertaken around the cemetery. Clear up of waste material in the cemetery undertaken.

Parks Management and Maintenance of Parks, Open Space Areas, Outdoor Amenities and Recreation Facilities. Grass mowing, Roadside Verge Maintenance, Nature & Conversation Areas, Litter Collection & Disposal, Graffiti Removal, Floral Displays, Tree Planting. Maintain in accordance with BS 7370: Part 3: 1991 – Category D, F & H. Herbicide Application in accordance with BS 7370 Part 3 & $. Locations: North West, North East, City Centre, South East, South West, and Extended Boundary Areas. Wall repair contract Tender Documents in preparation. St Catherine's Cemetery Kilcully Survey of land and detail design underway in preparation for Part 8 submission. Extension design in preparation for Part 8 planning process. Curraghkippane Cemetery

202- Daily inspections. One new lifebuoy installed at Fionn Laoi amenity area Ballincollig. More to follow Circular tower plants in various locations around the city A considerable number of floral plantings is now pollinator friendly. Manage and maintain 140 plots at Churchfield Gardens. Ballincollig allotments in the extended boundary area. Manage and maintain course including ancillary facilities in accordance with scheduled seasonal maintenance. Resurfacing and lining completed.
