Works to area
Marina Park
Phase 1 snagging works ongoing with an estimated completion date of late February 2022. Park Opened November 2021. Half Moon Lane Upgrade to allow pedestrian/cycle access to TVP. Work substantially complete, snagging ongoing. Access to the park via this route is now open. New Automatic Public Convenience (toilet) groundwork and service connections undertaken, and new unit delivered. Works to be completed end of February/start of March. Missing lifebuoy replaced at Fionn Laoi area. Fionn Laoi car park surface levelled Powder Mill buildings/structures conservation plan nearing completion.

Regrading and drainage works to soccer pitch are completed.
Parks Events We have seen some small events and exercise groups take place in the parks such as Circus Training, Yoga, and various exercise classes since the easing of COVID restrictions. Bookings are picking up. Working in collaboration with the Arts Office for Creative Ireland. Various contacts with Tidy Towns Groups, Renewal Groups, Residents Associations, Community Associations etc. Progressed new Garden Project in Clashduv Park with Community Group and Ballyhooly Garden Project with a local Community Group. Water Fountains Site investigations underway in preparation for installation at Tramore Valley Park, Fitzgerald’s Park, Ballincollig Regional Park, Bishopstown Park and Gerry O’ Sullivan Park. Tenders for supply and installation have been returned. Works scheduled to commence late February. Water Fountains/Bottle Fillers - 5 units order delivery expected mid-February with installation to follow. Wheelchair Swings Six wheelchair s wings to be installed at Meelick Park, Gerry O’ Sullivan Park, Pophams Park, Clashduv Park and Lough Mahon Park during February/March. Tenders for supply and installation have been issued.
