The tour is divided into three parts and you will be guided through the building by its current occupiers, learning the heritage as well as the way the building has been adapted to become a home to Lavit Gallery, Cork Printmakers and Backwater Artists Group. Each segment of the tour delves into the history of the building as part of Cork’s heritage story. You will be led by representatives from each of the organisations that now share the spaces to continue Cork’s cultural journey. Visitors will also have the chance to experience the art exhibitions on display across the building; At Lavit Gallery see their Summer Exhibition & Mary Bowen Galvin | Ad pondus omnium in the historic vaults. Backwater Artists Group have Drawn Works, A group exhibition with artists Sean Hanrahan, Orla O’Byrne, Joseph Heffernan, Anna Barden, Óisín Burke, Deirdre Frost, Ciara Rodgers & Stephen Doyle; The Power of Suffering in Silence, solo exhibition by Mary O’Leary.
