Mother Jones and her children, a documentary followed by a discussion The documentary Mother Jones and her Children has been produced by Framework Films and the Cork Mother Jones Committee. The film tells the story of Mary Harris who was born in Cork in 1837, emigrated to Canada and became a tough union organiser for the United Mineworkers of America. 11am to 1pm, The Maldron Hotel, Shandon.

Cork City Libraries Heritage Week Creativity in Bishopstown Library Don you medieval finery and enjoy a morning of Lego making and craft in Bishopstown Library. 10am to 11am, Bishopstown Library, Sarsfield Road, Wilton. Cork’s Jewish Past and Present A talk by Ruti Lachs regarding some of the artefacts in the exhibition at Cork Public Museum with music and stories from the old and new communities. 11am to 12pm, Cork Public Museum, Fitzgerald Park. Shandon Historical Walking Tour Explore Cork’s most historic quarter with Cllr. Kieran McCarthy. 6.30pm, meet at North Main Street/ Adelaide Street Square, opposite Cork Volunteer Centre.

Murphy’s Farm Heritage Walk In 1726, the summer residence of the Bishop of Cork and Ross was completed 5 miles to the west of Cork. The Heritage Walk will begin and end at Murphy’s Farm car park, adjacent to the original mansion courtyard. During the walk learn about the history and the nature of the location, while appreciating the role Murphy’s Farm plays in the Bishopstown Community, 300 years later. 2pm to 3pm, meet at Bishopstown House, Murphy’s Farm, Bishopstown. The Northern Ridge, St Patrick’s Hill to MacCurtain Street Historical walking tour with Cllr. Kieran McCarthy of the area around St Patrick’s Hill- Old Youghal Road to MacCurtain Street. 6.30pm, meet on the Green at Audley Place, top of Patrick’s Hill.
