Join Cork Public Museum Curator, Dan Breen for a special 80th anniversary tour highlighting his favourite artefacts and sharing untold stories from the museum’s collection. 2pm to 3pm, Cork Public Museum, Fitzgerald’s Park.
Douglas Tidy Towns Foraging Walk in the Mangala
Join herbalist, botanist and ecologist Jo Goodyear on a foraging walk through Ballybrack Woods (the Mangala) and learn about the wide variety of edible plants in our locality. 2pm to 4pm, Douglas Community Centre car park. Ballincollig Heritage Festival Gunpowder Mills walk and talk with Tadhg O’Connor Discover how Gunpowder was made in the 19th century on this 2.5km walk on the banks of the River Lee. 2pm to 4.30pm, meet at GAA entrance to the Ballincollig Regional Park.
Cork LGBT Archive Cork LGBT Archive Open Day
The Cork LGBT Archive gathers, preserves and shares the rich history of the Cork’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities. The Cork LGBT Archive will host an Open Day with Cork LGBT history exhibitions and archival materials on display. 2pm to 5pm, Unit 10, Crawford Business Park.
