Green Schools An Taisce Green Schools Seminars were held online in November. Picker Pals Lifetime Lab Education Officer (Una Leader) assisted the Waste Enforcement Section in engaging schools in the Picker Pals programme. In total, 40 Cork City Primary Schools are now working with the Picker Pals programme aided by Anti-Dumping Initiative Funding Circular Economy As part of the promotion of Revive paint and following on from Reuse Month, Mary Walsh was asked to write a piece for the Echo on the Circular Economy. Sustainable Travel

World Remembrance Day for Road

Traffic Victims took place during

November, with City Council buildings

lit up to highlight the event. A mass of

remembrance took place in the North

Cathedral attended by members of

the Gardai, Road Safety Authority and

Cork City Council.

Cork City Council supported a ‘cycle

bus’ for Bishopstown Boys P rimary

School. The ‘bus’ consisted of over 50

children cycling to school together,

with parents stationed along the

route to ensure safety, assisted by

Gardai. Bike maintenance and bike

skills classes were arranged for the

children once they reached school.
