Strategic & Economic Development Tourism Outdoor Dining Grants

Cork City Council’s outdoo r dining grants scheme, funded by Failte Ireland, closed for applications on 8 October. Following a review of the 226 applications received, grants were approved for 207 hospitality businesses including restaurants, cafes, pubs, and hotels. In total some €615,000 was awarded in small grants to support the purchase of outdoor furniture, windbreakers, heaters etc to support outdoor hospitality capacity in Cork City. Elizabeth Fort Elizabeth Fort welcomed close on 2,000 visitors during the month of November. Visitors have been mostly Irish or European with 5% from the US. Submissions could be made through the City Council’s online portal https://consult.corkcity.ie, by post or hardcopy. In excess of 450 submissions were received. Presently these submissions are being assessed and a Chief Executive Report is currently being prepared for consideration at full Council.
