Climate Awareness Training Climate Ireland, on behalf of the Local Authority Services National Training Group, is delivering a comprehensive programme of climate training to all local authorities. The training programme consists of 6 pillars: Championing Leadership – for senior management and elected members. Raising Awareness – for staff in back-office roles. Building Capacity – for staff of the Council’s Climate Action Team . Empowering Change – for community and outward facing staff. Delivering Action – for outdoor staff. Actioning Policy – for staff with specific responsibility for implementation of the Council’s . Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan.

Elected members and senior managers completed the ‘Championing Leadership’ pillar in June and relevant senior staff of the Council participated in the ‘Actioning Policy’ webinar series held in May. The ‘Building Capacity’ training for the Council’s Climat e Action Team commenced on 17 th November with 6 sessions to take place, this will be completed on 10 th December.
