Prepare water quality management plans for any waters in or adjoining their functional areas. Key strategic objectives include: Ensuring Irish Water delivers infrastructural projects that meet key public health, environmental and economic objectives in the water services sector. Water Services Act 2007 Water Services (Amendment) Act 2012 Water Services Act (No. 2) 2013
Provides the water services infrastructure.
Outlines the responsibilities involved in delivering and managing water services. Identifies the authority in charge of provision of water and waste water supply. Irish Water was given the responsibility of the provision of water and waste water services in the amendment act during 2013, therefore these services are no longer the responsibility of the 34 Local Authorities in Ireland.
Irish Water’s Water Services Strategic Plan 2015 and associated Proposed Capital Investment Plan (2014-2016)
This Water Services Strategic Plan sets out strategic objectives for the delivery of water services over the next 25 years up to 2040. It details current and future challenges which affect the provision of water services and identifies the priorities to be tackled in the short and medium term.

Raised Bog SAC Management Plan and Review of Raised Bog Natural Heritage Areas
Aims to meet nature conservation obligations while having regard to national and local economic, social and cultural needs
Ensure that the implications of management choices for water levels, quantity and quality are fully explored, understood and factored into policy making and land use planning. Review the current raised bog NHA network in terms of its contribution to the national conservation objective for raised bog habitats and determine the most suitable sites to replace the losses of active raised bog habitat and high bog areas within the SAC network and to enhance the national network of NHAs.

Food Harvest 2020 is a roadmap for the Irish food industry, as it seeks to innovate and expand in response to increased global demand for quality foods. It sets out a vision for the potential growth in agricultural output after the removal of milk quotas.
