Architectural Conservation Area Conservation Grants The Architectural Conservation Area Conservation Grant is in the process of being advertised. This grant scheme is fully funded by Cork City Council and it is uniquely run by Cork City Council. These grants are to encourage good stewardship of historic buildings in Architectural Conservation Areas of Cork City. Urban Regeneration and Development Fund We submitted three Applications under the 2 nd call for Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF). They were:

Cork Docklands

This is a 10-year programmed of expenditure in infrastructure to facilitate the development of Docklands as a compact city centre focused mixed-use green and sustainable development of commercial and retail space, social infrastructure including Housing and community facilities with a high-quality public realm. The application relates to funding of Transport and Access roads and Bridges, Public Realm and SW drainage and Flood protection infrastructure.

Grand Parade Quarter

This is a City centre project made up of 3 No elements as follows:

i) Library Site : This is for the assembly of a number of sites in the between South Main St, Tuckey St Grand Parade and the River and the development of a mixed use Urban quarter with a new City Library at its core along with the commercial development with cultural facilities in partnership with RTE and UCC along with some retail and residential elements. ii) Bishop Lucey Park : This is for the redevelopment of this key city centre park and which was designed the subject of a recent design competition for a modern urban park with retention of key elements of heritage of the park with new modern and contemporary public realm and landscape.

iii) Beamish and Crawford Public realm : This is for the development of public realm in the vicinity of South Main St to th4 east and two new pedestrian bridges as access to the west of the Event Centre site along with public realm along the river frontage.

Urban Expansion Areas

This for the provision of roads and drainage infrastructure to facilitate the development for several thousand houses in the areas of Ballyvolane and Ballincollig.
