The “bedded down” category captures all those who have been confirmed (observed by an outreach worker sleepin g on the street on the night in qu estion) as rough sleeping. The “not bedded down” category captures all who presented to the Cork Simon rough sleeper service in the day centre. These individual s self-reported as sleeping rough but this has not been observed by the outreach services. The “Client Refused offer of a Bed” captures all who were offered a bed but refused same and no further information is available on where these individuals slept on that night. The “No Bed Available” category captures all th ose who looked for a bed but there was not a bed available to them on that night and no further information is available on where these individuals slept on that night. This table provides a breakdown of the reasons why the individuals who comprise the “Bedded Down” category slept rough e. g. they had a bed elsewhere but for some reason did not use it (returned too late to a hostel to be let in), they only wish to use the Day Centre services for food and washing but do not which to stay overnight etc..
