Webinars

As part of the development plan process Cork City Council has sought to engage with members of the public and interested parties through a variety of means, including a public opinion survey and the holding of two webinars, each with a very different focus. The first webinar, Our City Our Future: Learning from International Experience, was held on Thursday 23 July 2020 and featured speakers from Freiburg and London, with a focus on developing Cork as a compact and liveable city. The participation rate was impressive and about 130 people tuned into the event until its conclusion. The second webinar, Our City Our Future: Addressing the Challenges, was held on Wednesday 29 July and featured speakers from UCC, the National Transport Authority and private architectural practice, with a focus on tackling climate change, transport strategy and creating liveable cities. This second webinar was also heavily subscribed, with about 110 participants tuning into the event for its duration. Videos of the both event will be uploaded to the City Council’s www.corkcitydevelopmentplan.ie website for the benefit of those that couldn’t be present for the events.
