Lifebuoy Service:

Golf Course:

Manage and maintain course including ancillary facilities in accordance with scheduled seasonal maintenance programme. Course opened on 18 th May 2020.

Floral Planting:

Preparation for Summer Floral Displays has commenced

Park Fixtures & Fittings:

Maintain, repair and replace as appropriate. Essential Repairs during COVID – 19 Pandemic

Park Security:

Manage and monitor security in parks, open space areas and amenity walks-engage external security as appropriate. A new Social Distancing Park Ranger Service was launched in late March (at locations listed below) to promote social distancing by users of the City’s main amenities to ensure these remain open for essential exercise. Fairfield, Popham’s Park, Gerry O’ Sullivan Park, Fitzgerald’s Park Meelick Park, Gl en River Park, John )’ Callaghan Park, Lee Fields, The Lough, The Marina, Blackrock Line Walk, Estuary Walk, Bishopstown Park, Curragheen Walk, Tramore Valley Park, Tramore River Walk. Clashduv Park, Tory Top Park, Ballinlough Park, Lough Mahon Park, Ballybrack Douglas, Harbour Greenway Rochestown, Clogheenmilcon Walk Blarney, Waterloo Walk Blarney, Manage and maintain 105 plots Churchfield Gardens and Ballincollig allotments. Allotments opened on May 18 th 2020. Niche sales and record Interments. Record Interments, grave re-openings and plot sales, Grass mowing, wreath & floral removal, litter collection and weed control. Lay Foundations for Headstones. Maintain car parks Liaise with the Public and Bereaved Families. Issue invoices and reconcile accounts. Work to rectify new concrete foundation beams at section 5 of St James Cemetery Renovation of office building and continuation of pathway renewals at Rathcooney Cemetery

Manage and Maint ain: St. Finbarr’s; St Catherine’s; St Michael’s; St Joseph’s, Rathcooney, St. James, Curraghkippane, St. Oliver’s, Kilcully Old, Inniscarra and Carrigrohane Beg.

Essential Service during COVID -19 Pandemic.

Parks staff redeployed to Cemeteries to create additional teams as back-up should an existing team have to self-isolate due to contracting COVID – 19. Teams operating a shift roster. Additional staff trained in excavator operation. Excavate Graves and undertake burials.
