Planning Policy Conservation Unit

Cork City Council has awarded a total of €114,000 to fund repairs to sixteen buildings of architectural heritage interest. Buildings being funded include the Honan Chapel, SS. Peter & Paul's Church, as well as the Church of the Resurrection in Blarney and St. Peter's in Carrigrohane. Other more modest buildings which have been approved for funding include a bow-front slate-hung house so characteristic of the city as well as private houses in several of the older parts of the city. The projects are being funded under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme, funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and operated by Cork City Council. Cork City Draft Heritage and Biodiversity Plan Public consultation started with presentations to several Strategic Policy Committees, creation of an online portal and preparation for online workshop which takes place on the 8 th of April Grants Awarded 26k from the Heritage Council for the following projects

Climate Action • 1 March – Attended meeting with Irish Public Bodies (IPB) to discuss risks associated with non-delivery of climate and biodiversity actions. • 2 March –Organised ‘Climate Action Team’ meeting # 3. • 3 March - Attended meeting with ‘Young Social Innovators’ to progress sustainability actions. • 5 March – Attended in- house meeting on ‘Decarbonising Zones (DZs): Action 165 of the national Climate Action Plan 2019’; • 5 March – Attended presentation on ‘Energy Bureaus’ from ASBN CARO & Mayo County Council • 8 March – Att ended City Council ‘Climate Action Committee’ meeting # 15. • 9 March – Completed review of proposed ‘Air Quality Strategy’;
