Local Enterprise Office (LEO)

Local Enterprise Week March 3 rd – 7 th Local Enterprise week took place in early March with over four hundred clients attending our broad range of online events which were run with local partners. Trading Online Voucher Scheme Under the Government’s National Digital Strategy, the expanded Trading Online Voucher Scheme helps small businesses with up to 10 employees to trade more online, boost sales and reach new markets. There is up to €2,500 available through the Local Enterprise Offices with co-funding of 50% from the business. These are all subject to eligibility and funding availability. 128 trading online vouchers were approved at the end of March.

Training and Webinars Local Enterprise Offices have moved training programmes, workshops and networking meet-ups online, covering areas such as cash management in a crisis. Training programmes are generally free of charge and places can be booked online, through the Local Enterprise Office. 842 people have participated in the webinars and training at the end of March. Mentoring Under the Local Enterprise Office Mentor Programme, clients work with an experienced mentor to identify solutions to areas of exposure within their business or attend a business advice clinic. 92 businesses have availed of this service at the end of March. Other Programmes Measure One Grant Aid: The Local enterprise office offers feasibility, priming or business expansion grant aid to eligible manufacturing or internationally trading businesses. The first evaluation and monitoring committee of the year took place in late February with six grant applications approved – a mix of feasibility, priming and business expansion. Schools Enterprise Programme: The finals of our programme took place on March 10 th with eight schools participating. The winning team was from Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál in Blarney.
